A young man who returned from travelling a great distance. Burdened with sadness upon learning the state of the world, he lives a simple life to show gratitude for knowing peace. He is married to the love of his life.

Takayuki generally has a positive personality. He smiles a lot and finds the good in people. He is academically smart, but does not like being pressured to study. If a subject interests him, he will study on his own. He enjoys reading and helping people out.
As a child, he was a very curious kid that liked to get in between adult's business. This proved to be a good thing for Rie, as Takayuki helped Rie clear the misunderstanding between Rie and his subordinates.
Takayuki grew up without knowing his family, which led him wanting to find out more. Little did he know that his family secret was buried after an incident that killed his older brother, Yukio. Takayuki came to learn that he was a split personality of Takashi, the original owner of his body prior to his amnesia. During this time, Takayuki lost all his confidence. He was plagued by a huge identity crisis. He believed that he was a mistake that shouldn't have been born in this world; that he was supposed to disappear. He was afraid that Takashi would someday take over his place and he'd have no other place to be.
Fortunately, Rie encouraged Takayuki, saying that "No matter what happens, the person I met and befriended with was you. You are not a mistake. That, I guarantee". His words comforted Takayuki and he regained part of the confidence he had lost.
Ever since, Takayuki had matured. He was no longer the curious child he was as a kid, but rather a more careful and considerate person. He is still extroverted in a sense that he enjoys company and can appear cheerful in front of others, but he has a harder time trusting people. When under pressure, he is prone to succumb to self hate and anxiety. Because of this he chose to live a low-stress life with little responsibilities.
Unlike his partner, his worldview is more jaded. While he gives off a vibrant feeling, inside, he carries uneasiness within his heart. He helps people for the sake of helping and is unattached to the people. He would make the hard decision of leaving his partner behind if it meant saving the world or doing a greater good for the world.
He is also far from poetic and has trouble making comparisons of daily life with nature's beauty. He sees things more factually. In spring, he sees the flowers blooming and in winter he sees the snow pile up.
